Annual Appeal 2006. This year, wherever possible, we are carrying out
the door-to-door collections during the first two weeks in September. However,
anyone unable to collect during this period may continue collecting until the
end of September. As far as possible the teams
will be the same as last year. If you are not in a team please contact
Bernard Smith. It is important that every
able-bodied member of Reading Central helps with this appeal to fund the
vital social and evangelical work of The Salvation Army in the UK Prayerspan. The new August/September issue is now available. Please pick up
your copy. Members of the Central Club for the Retired are going to
Blenheim Palace on September 13th. If you would like to join us,
please see Ruth Johnson or Mary Butcher. David Lumm has 4 copies of “No Discharge in This War”
by General Frederick Coutts for sale. The books are in “as new” condition and
will set you back £3 each. If you are interested in owning this one volume
history of the Salvation Army please see David. TV Pick: The Miracles of Jesus. Starting on Sunday 6th August at
6:35pm on BBC One, this three-part series uses drama, special photography
and computer generated images to bring the miracles of Jesus to life.
Presenter Rageh Omaar tries to decipher the meaning of the miracles of Jesus.
