A WARM WELCOME FOR MAJORS ROBERT AND DANA REID AND FOR DAVID

The family received a warm welcome

The installation by Major Christine Bailey (Divisional Commander)

On Sunday 6th August 2006 Majors Robert and Dana Reid entered the morning meeting at Reading Central to the music of "O Canada", the national anthem of Canada. As they entered, there was spontanious applause from the congregation and every member rose to their feet to greet their new commanding officers.

During the meeting, The Divisional Commander, Major Christine Bailey conducted the induction ceremony in which Majors Robert and Dana, pledged to dedicate themselves to the mission of The Salvation Army in Reading Central. Afterwards, their son, David, joined them on the platform and the family were formally welcomed.

Major Robert Reid then gave an address in which he called upon all people to commit themselves to obey God's instruction for their lives and calling on the example of Esther in the bible as an illustration.

To the family and friends of Majors Robert and Dana in Canada:
We will do our best to look after them whilst they are with us and to return them safely
